History
OTAM Test Center is an engineering and testing facility with advanced technology infrastructure, providing the testing services needed in R&D and product development processes, primarily for the automotive, defense, and aerospace sectors.
With its expert, experienced, and qualified staff, it delivers reliable and repeatable testing services in line with national and international standards, helping verify the durability and performance of products under real operating conditions.
As a subsidiary of the ITU Foundation, OTAM brings together academic knowledge and industry needs through a strong technical infrastructure. Its university-rooted engineering approach keeps scientific accuracy, engineering discipline, and technical reliability at the forefront of every test process.
Our laboratory operates under ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, conducting all test work within an internationally recognized quality management framework using traceable, accurate, and repeatable methods. This approach allows us to provide our customers not only with testing services but also with strong technical assurance.

- 2004
Founding
OTAM was founded in 2004 by the ITU Foundation, OSD, and TUBITAK as a partnership-based center. Its goal was to strengthen university-industry cooperation and increase the competitiveness of the Turkish automotive sector in global markets through pre-production R&D, testing, and certification work.
- 2007
Joint-Stock Company
In 2007, OTAM became a joint-stock company under the partnership of the Istanbul Technical University Foundation (ITU), the Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD), the Association of Automotive Parts and Components Manufacturers (TAYSAD), and the Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters Association (UIB).
- 2013
TOSB Test Center
As of 2013, OTAM has been operating its test center located in TOSB (Automotive Supply Industry Specialized Organized Industrial Zone, TAYSAD), providing engineering solutions in vibration, durability, and climatic testing.
- 2018
ITU Foundation
From 2018 onward, OTAM has carried out its activities entirely within the ITU Foundation.
- 2025
Accredited Test Laboratory
As of 2025, OTAM continues its operations as an Accredited Test Laboratory under the ISO 17025 standard.
